Curiosity is a good thing. It is fine to be curious about someone with a disability, but be sure not to stare and instead engage. With your curiosity you also need courage to take the next step and talk to and ask questions of people with disabilities. Often people are afraid to
ask questions of thos
e with disabilities because they are afraid to offend them. Questions are the best way to get to know someone. Introduce yourself. Let them know you are interested in them and what they have to say. Getting to know someone with a disability is a way to treat them with love and respect. Curiosity is a sign of interest. By taking the next courageous step of asking questions we can turn the curiosity into a positive experience. Being a friendly familiar face can help make your Church more welcoming for those with disabilities.
